What are biodegradable covers?
Biodegradable covers (also called compostable covers, bio covers or corn starch covers) are carry bags and pouches made from plant-based material instead of polythene. They are used the same way as plastic covers, but the material is designed to break down in composting conditions and return to the soil instead of staying in the environment for centuries.
Our covers are made from a corn starch based compostable blend. They are strong enough for daily shop use, can be printed in your brand colours, and help your business move away from banned single-use plastic. Read more in our guide to biodegradable vs compostable vs oxo-biodegradable bags.
